The 2019 mockbuster Monster Island of The Asylum is ironically released around the time of Godzilla King of the Monsters. The movie is about Monster Island, where a monster may become known, and who will be kind to the island.


As this is a movie about an asylum, it has a budget about equivalent to a huge kid's meal and utilizes it carefully, concentrating on a few human characters and keeping its big stars on a single set where all their sequences can be shot during lunch break. However, lest we forget this is the kaiju genre and, well, that is sort of how (posted) they go, so maybe The Asylum won't do such an awful job with it.
